Indonesian and French Gastronomy

Culinary diversity is  a very broad topic since each country has a large number of dishes which represent the history of each one of them. There are countries with delicate dishes which are free of large amounts of carbohydrates and other sweet snacks which sweeten the palate but also show high levels of calories. This day we will make a comparison between two totally different gastronomy such as the French gastronomy and the  India's gastronomy.

India is a country where you can find a tremendous contrast of small cultures, lifestyles and religions for this reason the gastronomy of India has a wide range of dishes influenced by a great variety of factors. Generally in Indian cuisine you can find a wide use of local vegetables as well as take advantage of all the condiments in the region, which is why it is often said that in India you eat very spicy comparison to other countries. In general, the use of meats in their recipes is very unusual, with religion being a very important factor. It is said that if meat is consumed in India it is due to the French influence that it had in a short period of its history. Speaking of influences, it is also worth mentioning the Muslims, who left to the Indian people such popular foods today as the kebab, grilled lamb meat that many centuries ago was defined as "the food of the Persian kings".

On the other hand, the French gastronomy which has evolved through the years through history has nothing to envy of the delicious dishes of India since French cuisine is one of the most famous in the whole world. From the king's cooks to the great chefs of today, the culinary art of France and its history are specific expressions of the identity of their nation.

No less than three decades ago, food is an object of history that according to the historian Jacques Le Goff, promoted the study of several stories such as food, cooking, table and gastronomy. Today, the food  not only the soy, the cows, and the milk of Argentina compete with the sources of energy, the center of the political-economic scenario and, also, the historical one

In order to relate the origins of the current French cuisine, it is necessary to situate it in the 17th century, time of a true culinary revolution because there is a change in the food taste both in France and in the other countries of Western Europe. Oriental spices: saffron, ginger, cinnamon, etc., which had been much appreciated in the Middle Ages and Renaissance are no longer used and only pepper, clove and nutmeg continue to be seasoned in small doses. Likewise, his love for wine is something that identifies the french people.

In conclusion each country has undergone changes in history which have allowed them to create exotic and unique dishes as is the case of France which was marked by great times like the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, as well as the gastronomy of India has also been influenced by the invasions made by other countries. Both countries share historical factors that marked their gastronomic identity.
